Ramiro G. Ramirez Sr.

Alice, Texas – Ramiro G. Ramirez Sr., 96 years of age, passed away on August 10, 2024, after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Ramiro was a United States Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a retired electrical supply salesman. He was a former Member of the United States Veteran Burial Association. Ramiro was also a Parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had served as a Eucharistic Minister. He loved spending time with his wonderful family and watching old western movies. Ramiro will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ramiro is preceded in death his parents Falviano and Nora G. Ramirez, his son Ramiro Ramirez Jr., and his grandparents Willie and Trinidad Gonzalez.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 72 years, Maria Ramirez, his daughter Nora (Arnold) Ramirez-Rodriguez, six grandchildren: Michelle (Shawn) Chalfant, Ramiro Ramirez III, Christine Rodriguez, Arnold Ryan (Emily) Rodriguez, Michael (Kacy) Ramirez, and Audrey (Zachary) Ripley, seven great- grandchildren: Riley Ramirez, Evelyn Rodriguez, Ethan Ramirez, Oliver Ripley Owen Rodriguez, Sophia Ripley, and Declan Ripley; and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home – Alice followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas.  Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery Alice, Texas.

Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association.
