San Diego, Texas – Maria Elda “Momo” Gonzalez, 74 years of age passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, peacefully with her family by her side. She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, going on trips to the casino, and most of all being around her family. In her lifetime she was the most caring and compassionate provider to her patients, a Dallas Cowboy fan, queen of politics, Novela watcher, kickball coach, loved to be outside working on the yard planting her rose bushes, and let’s not forget “Don’t touch her cokes”. Maria “Momo” will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Preciliano Gonzalez, Aurora Gonzalez; sisters, Feliciana “Chana” Campos, Baldemar Gonzalez, Idolina Gonzalez; nephew, Marco Gonzalez; son in law, Ruben Everett, and in laws, Santos and Martina Gonzalez.

Survived by four daughters, Martina (Reymundo Jr.) Ramos, Idolina (Rene Sr.) Santos, Melissa Everett, Delinda (Augustine Perez) Gonzalez; two sons, Ramon (Monica) Gonzalez Jr., Omar Santos (Kristen) Ramirez; father of children, Ramon Gonzalez Sr.; two brothers, Preciliano (Minga) Gonzalez, Enrique “Kike” (Elna) Gonzalez; two sisters, Lupita (Joe) Soulas, Nora (Carmela Alaniz) Gonzalez Alaniz; grandkids, Rene Santos Jr., Ashley Gonzalez, Amanda Santos, Delilah Martinez, Delizza Davila, Dora Wolfe, Nora Santos, Sadie Miller, Robert Davila Jr., Ramon Gonzalez III, Ryan Gonzalez, Ruben Everett Jr., Omar Ramirez Jr., Lazette Gonzalez, Joe Daniel Everett, Alyssa Ramirez, Seth Ramirez, Ayden Jace Everett, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and two great-great grandchildren, Aaliyah Maria Ramirez, and Lonzo Sequera.

Active Pallbearers: Robert Davila Jr., Ryan Gonzalez, Joe Daniel Everett, Seth Ramirez, Rene Santos Jr., and Ramon Gonzalez III.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ayden Jace Everett, and Victor Martinez Jr.

Visitation and Rosary will begin Monday May 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial to follow at San Diego Cemetery No. 2.
