Maria Consuelo Saenz

San Diego, Texas- Maria Consuelo Saenz, a lifelong resident of San Diego entered eternal rest at the age of 89 on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She graduated from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi and shortly after moved back to San Diego, Texas. She worked a few years for the First State Bank of San Diego and then followed her employment with San Diego I.S.D. Tax office and the Duval County Welfare Department.  Consuelo’s favorite pastime was gambling at different casinos, always limiting her gaming. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She always welcomed extended family and friends for a meal at any time of the day. Consuelo will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
 
Consuelo is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel C. Solis, Sr. and Elida Sendejo Solis; her husband, Jose H. Saenz Sr.; her son, Danny Saenz, two brothers, Manuel C. Solis Jr., Zenon Solis; and two sisters, Esperanza “Hope” Gonzalez and Hilda Ramirez.
 
She is survived by her two sons, Roel S. Saenz, Jose H. (Elma) Saenz Jr.; three daughters Anita (Jeff) Noakes, Sheila Y. (David) Young, Dena Saenz; her brother, Martin E. (Juanita) Solis; her sister, Idolina S. Garcia; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  
Pallbearers: Luis Daniel "LD" Saenz, Ignacio "Chito" Bentancour, David Jaymes "DJ" Saenz, Robert Saenz, Adrian Benavidez, Joseph Saenz, Clayton Saenz, Jayse Lozano.

​Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the San Diego Cemetery # 2.
