​Our beloved Lyanna Lynn Martinez, 30 years old, passed away peacefully and entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday Morning, June 29th at her residence. She battled breast cancer for 6 years. She was born January 8, 1994, in Alice, TX to her parents, Hector and Elena Martinez. She was a 2013 San Diego High School graduate. Lyanna worked at Little Scholars for 5 years where she grew her love of working with children. She then proceeded with her career at Collins Parr Elementary as a Paraprofessional for 3 years. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She attended New Life Community Church where she worshiped our Lord. She enjoyed watching the Houston Astros, San Antonio Spurs, and the Dallas Cowboys play on their game days. Lyanna had the biggest heart and cared for others even when battling her battles. Her smile was radiant and contagious. Lyanna’s personality was bubbly, gullible, and loud. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Oscar and Elena Ramirez, paternal grandfather; Hector H. Martinez Sr., her two uncles; Jacinto Ramirez and Alejandro Ramirez, and one cousin; Iris Ramirez. Survived by her parents; Hector & Elena Martinez. Her two sisters; Sirena (Reynaldo) Trevino and Marlena (Billy Castillo) Martinez, two nephews; Reynaldo Trevino Jr., and Isaiah Trevino, one niece; Amara Castillo, and unborn niece; Florence Lyanna Trevino, grandmother; Martha Martinez, godmother; Maria G. Ramirez, three aunts; Estrella (Shawn) Martinez, Ruby (Juan) Garcia, Maribel (Abraham Jr.) Lugo, two uncles; Jose (Norma) Martinez, Lionel (Laura) Martinez, and numerous cousins.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home- San Diego. A Prayer Service will be recited at 6:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Valentin Sepulveda. Services will conclude after the Prayer Service.
