Lidia G. Perales

Lidia G. Perales, 72, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, after a short illness.

Lidia dedicated many years of service to her community. She worked as a custodian for 18 years with the San Diego Independent School District, followed by five years as a custodian for Freer Independent School District. She also worked as a cook for three years at Muy Grande Store in Freer.

Lidia found joy in playing bingo, trying her luck at the maquinitas, and taking trips to Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, one of her favorite pastimes. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan A. Perales Jr.; her parents, Gilberto Garza and Rebecca Morales; her granddaughter, Dalayla M. Perales; her brother, Reynaldo Garza Sr.; and her sister, Yolanda G. Casas.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Luz Perales and Andrea Perales; her grandson, Juan Gilberto Perales; her brother, Ricardo (Anna) Garza; her sister, Ernestina (Felipe) Ramos; her sister-in-law, Elodia Garza; her faithful companion, her dog, Dak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Active Pallbearers: Servando Casas Jr., Felipe Ruiz III, Reynaldo Garza Jr., Oscar Garza, Reynaldo “Gordy” Perez III, and Orlando Casas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. A Holy Rosary will be recited, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Peña Cemetery in La Rosita, Texas.

Lidia's love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.

My Sincere Condolences and Prayers for your Family..
I will miss you and the fun times we had going to all the out of town bingo’s.. us cutting the rug together at the dances.. lol
We had fun and laughed a lot.. Until we meet again..
