Josefa C. Rodriguez

Alice, Texas – Josefa C. Rodriguez, 85 years old passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Josefa was a housewife and was married for 63 years. A strong, resilient, and a quiet stubborn lady. She loved to cook, sew, and spend time with her family. Josefa was kindhearted and sweet. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Adan A. Rodriguez, one son; Adan C. Rodriguez (Rosa Elena Hernandez), one daughter; Linda Estela Rodriguez, two brothers; Jose L. Cardona (Irma †), Alfonso L. (Margo Rhodes), and two sisters; Nelda (Benito †) Trevino, Vilma (Fermin †) Huerta.

She is survived by her daughter Isabel (Ruben) Garcia, San Antonio, Texas, one son, Adrian Rodriguez, Houston, Texas, Her brothers; Ruben L Cardona (Mary Ann †), Samuel L. Cardona (Lydia), Sisters; Dolores (Joe) Hinjosa, Olga (Arturo) Bazan, Aunts; Angelita Vela, and Virginia Chapa. Six grandchildren; Ruben (Tanya) Garcia, Andrew (Maria) Garcia, Julia (Armando) Rodriguez, Lynda (Blake) Mullins, Gabriel (Brenda) Rodriguez, and Carissa Rodriguez.  Thirteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home – Alice with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery.
