James “Jim” F. Burkholder, 77 years of age, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the end of a Hail Mary surrounded by his loving family. Jim graduated with a master’s degree in Geology from Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee. He retired from Noble Energy in 2004.
My beloved is now in heaven with our Carla, Momo, Popo, and his momma and daddy. My Jim was the perfect son, husband, father, uncle, and friend to so many loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; Teresa Benavides Burkholder, one brother; David Burkholder, two sisters; Mary B. Hatcher, and Nancy Jean Burkholder, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

Active Pallbearers: Santiago "Jimmy" Garcia Sr., Raul Camilo Garcia Jr., Victoriano "Vick" Casas III, Joshua Ryan Benavides, Victor "Michael"  Benavides, and Ruben Benavides.

Visitation will begin Friday, June 21, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Burial to follow at The Benavides Family Cemetery, CR 103 North of San Diego, Mendietta Community- Bess, Texas.
​
Knights of Columbus in Spring, Texas will plan a service for Jim at a later date.

My dear Teresa, I can only imagine the sadness and the many tears to follow, but he is now resting in peace and is now surrounded by his family in God’s hands. He will remain in your heart forever. I am sooo sorry for your loss sweetie. ❤️🙏🏻😢

So saddened and it is with deepest condolences that we leave this message to you and all your family on the passing of dear Jim. We have fond memories of him and you when we lived in Spring for a brief shining moment in Memorial Northwest.
