Irma G. Hernandez, 68, passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Irma was known for her gentle heart, warm presence, and the deep love she carried for those closest to her.
Irma was a homemaker for most of her life, creating a home filled with comfort, love, and the simple joys she cherished. She adored her grandchildren and took every opportunity to spend time with them, celebrating their milestones and offering her endless support and affection. She also shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Bebita, who brought her companionship and joy. Irma loved music, family gatherings, and the lively energy of BBQs and bingos that brought everyone together. Her home was a place where people felt welcome—where laughter was shared, memories were made, and love was always present. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Irma leaves behind a legacy of warmth, unity, and compassion that will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished. Preceded in death by her husband, Horacio Hernandez; parents, Rosendo and Lydia Garza; son, Ricardo Tanguma; daughter, Estella Hernandez and brothers and sisters. Survivors include: two sons, Roel (Jennifer) Hernandez, Horacio Martin (Elma Hernandez; daughter-in-law, Ilda Tanguma; two brothers, Ruben Rene Garza, and Rosendo (Alice) Garza; two sisters, Estella Garza – Ariel Hernandez, and Lydia Garza; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers: Juan Hernandez, Roel Hernandez, Arnold Hernandez, Johnathan Hernandez, Jared Hernandez and Amador Gonzalez, Jr. Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home- San Diego with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Chapel San Diego. Burial will follow at San Diego Cemetery No.2 Funeral arrangements and service details will be shared by the family. Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
