Elida J. Vasquez

Alice, Texas - Elida J. Vasquez, 96 years of age, passed away peacefully at her daughter Esmeralda's residence surrounded by her loving family on October 18, 2025. Elida was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed cooking and baking delicious meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed music, playing card games and bingo. Elida dedicated her life to her family and will be deeply missed.

Elida is preceded in death by her parents, Luz and Manuela Jaramillo; her husband, Domingo Vasquez; daughter, Rosa Salas; three sons, Noe Vasquez, Ramon Vasquez and David Vasquez; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Esmeralda (Luis) Charles and Cynthia Ann Garcia both of Alice, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Richard Charles, Joe Luis Charles, Joe Angel Hinojosa, Sixto Salas Jr., Michael Hinojosa, and Richard Charles Jr.

Honorary Pallbearer: Damian Rios 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Chapel    600 S. Wright St. Alice, Texas followed by a Rosary and Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. that same morning. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.
