Clarencio L. Elizondo

​Clarencio L Elizondo, age 82, passed away on September 22, 2026. Clarencio was born in Alice,
TX on August 28, 1944 to Guadalupe Lugo Aguilera and Candelario Elizondo. He worked for over
50 years in the natural gas industry as a gas compressor mechanic. Watching the Dallas
Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns play during football season and BBQing on the weekends
were his favorite pastimes.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Nelda Garza Elizondo, mother Guadalupe
Lugo Aguilera, two brothers Alonzo and Ruben Elizondo, and three sisters Lupita Perez, Bobbie
Margaret Elizondo, and Alma Bueno.
He is survived by he and Nelda’s five children: Cynthia Ann Castillo (Tony Castillo), Clarencio Elizondo Jr., Sylvia Chapa, Sonia Elizondo, and Yvette Elizondo (Joel Contreras), 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home,
600 S. Wright St., Alice, TX . Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm. - 7:00 p.m.  Service will begin at 6pm.
Service's will conclude after.
