San Diego- Maria Elena Maldonado 80 years of age passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a short illness. She was born in San Diego, Texas on July 22, 1938 to Reynaldo San Miguel and Adelina Torrez. Maria was a homemaker. She was an active kickball member, she loved sewing, cooking and was a licensed beautician. Her passion was gambling. Maria was a caring person and was well loved by the youth in her community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents Reynaldo San Miguel and Adelina Torrez. Otilia Perez whom she was raised by, her husband Manuel E. Maldonado, two sons, Ramon Daniel Maldonado and Manuel E. "Niga" Maldonado, Jr. Survivors include one son, Roberto (Elsa) Maldonado, Alice, Texas, three daughters, Clementina M. (Michael) Garcia, Corpus Christi, Texas, Consuelo (Kevin) Vannatter, Rockport, Texas, Maria E. "Mary" (Florencio) Maldonado, San Diego, Texas, two step-brothers, Faron (Bertha) Garza, Alice, Texas, and Leopoldo Garza, Carrizo Springs, Texas, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Spohn South hospital nurses and her provider Rosanna Quintanilla and her Casa Real friends and neighbors. Visitation will begin on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home - San Diego, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Mauro P. San Antonio Texas: Rosaura Salinas Cisneros passed away in San Antonio,Texas on Dec. 11, 2018 at the age of 91. She was a native of San Diego, Texas and moved to San Antonio right after school and worked as an office manager for 50 years for the Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Company. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eulalio and Amina Salinas, her husband Joe Cisneros, sister Herlinda S. Gonzalez, brothers, Eulalio Salinas Jr., Adan Salinas, Alejandro Salinas, Ignacio Salinas, sisters in law, Lilia Salinas, Nora Salinas, Josefina Salinas, and Lydia Salinas. Survivors include: her nephew Joel R. Gonzalez of San Antonio that cared for his aunt and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20,2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Frances De Paula Catholic Church with a Rosary recited at the church at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 am. that same morning. Burial of Cremains will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Alice- Guillermo "Nick" Soto, 85 years of age passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 in an Alice nursing home after a short illness. He was a retired Butcher at Alice Packing Company for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Soto and Guadalupe Ramos Soto, his wife of 58 years Lydia F. Soto, one daughter, Estella Anguiano, two brothers, Felipe Soto and Negro Soto, two sisters, Monseratt Soto and Ester Soto, three grandchildren, Albert R. Ponce, Jr., Anthony Anguiano, and Erica Anguiano, one great-grandchild, Homer Anguiano, III. Survived by his two sons, Candelario (Lupe) Trevino, Dallas, Texas, and Nick (Soila) Soto, Jr., Alice, Texas, four daughters, Amanda (John) Pytel, San Antonio, Texas, Celina Soto, Lupita Soto and Sarina Soto, all of Alice, Texas, two brothers, Noe (Jovita) Sot, Corpus Christi, Texas and Guadalupe (Cinia) Soto, Houston, Texas, three sisters, Tina Soto, Houston, Texas, Elizabeth (Marcos) Hernandez and Eunice (Carlos) Perez both of Corpus Christi, Texas, twenty seven grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
