Alice, Texas - Juan M. Rosas, 90 years old passed away Friday August 31, 2018 in an Alice Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a former employee of B.G. Cornelius Construction Company for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator also a former employee of Beck Brothers. Mr. Rosas was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, he will sadly be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Josefa M. Rosas, his wife Santos G. Rosas, one step-son Enrique M. Perez, three brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his three step-sons Eloy (Linda) Perez of Alice, Texas, Ernesto Perez of California and Eduardo (Hilda) Perez of Laredo, Texas, two granddaughters raised as his daughters Helen (Ramon) Godines and Clarissa (Art) Romero both of Alice, Texas, two step- daughters Elena (Art) Maldonado and Elda (Antonio) Garcia both of Alice, Texas and niece Mary (Manuel) Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas, one brother Ramiro (Orelia) Rosas of San Antonio, Texas, fourteen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Sunday September 2, 2018 at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice, TX with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. that evening. San Diego, Texas : Antonio P. Ibarra 79 years of age passed away on August 28,2018 at his residence. Antonio was an Army Veteran and served proudly during the Berlin Crisis. He was a Paint and Body Shop Owner in San Diego for many years. Antonio was also a Eucharistic Minister for the St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a native of Alice, Texas later moved to Tecolote Community. He was a former employee of Alice Roofing and Oscar Hernandez Roofing after many years. "Tita" Saenz passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at her residence. She was born on March 22, 1925 to her parents Inocente Perez and Aida Benavides. She leaves a family history that had a great impact on the settlement of early Texas. Her great-great grandfather, Ysidro Benavides founded the town of Port Lavaca, her great-great uncle, Placido Benavides, built the round top house in Victoria, as it was being settled. Together, Placido and Ysidro were known as the Paul Reveres of Texas, as they rode from the Alamo during the siege to Goliad to warn of the impending attack known as the Goliad Massacre. Ysidro had a son Placido, who founded the town of Benavides and he had a son Nicolas, Tita's grandfather who was a Texas Ranger. Tita was raised on a ranch in the Concepcion area and graduated from Hebbronville High School. She moved to San Diego to raise her children. She was employed by San Diego ISD as a secretary for many years. After the loss of her son, Cesar Javier Saenz, she pursued her education and received a bachelors degree from Texas A & I Kingsville. She taught at the elementary level in San Diego until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Israel Saenz, her son, Cesar Javier Saenz, her parents, sisters Aida Perez Garcia, Isabel P. Richer, Ilma Montalvo, her brother Francisco Cantu and her great grandchild, Link Ariel Guerra. She was survived by her son Hector Mario (Cynthia) Saenz, one daughter Mary Lou Saenz, one brother Alejo Perez, five grandchildren, Hilario Javier Saenz, Rene (Selma) Guerra II, Renessa Guerra, Hector Mario Saenz Jr. and Cesar Jose Saenz, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Frank was a graduate of Alice High School Class of 1980. He was an outstanding football player for the Alice Coyotes and wore his Jersey # 70 proudly. Frank was also recruited to play for the Corpus Christi Gulf Coast Raiders to raise money for scholarships. Frank then continued his education in Funeral Directing and Embalming and graduated with Dual Certificates from the Commonwealth College in Houston, Texas in 1982. Frank then returned to Alice and begin his working career under the direction of James Holmgreen and Dale Dupree at Holmgreen Mortuary for over 30 years. In 2003 Frank begin to work for Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Homes, Inc. and was still employed as their Funeral Director and Embalmer. Frank also did work for the surrounding funeral homes and always assisted with monument work. He will forever be missed by his funeral home and monument colleagues. Frank was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, cousin, nephew and friend. He enjoyed the outdoors, the beach, NASCAR racing events, his ranch, playing the Lottery, was an avid Cowboys fan, and loved to party with his family and friends. His favorite saying was," Not to Worry". La Rosita Community: Carmen A. Garcia, 87 years old passed away Saturday August 4, 2018 in a Corpus Christi Nursing Home after a long illness. She was married to Pedro A. Garcia for 35 years until he passed away in 1988. Carmen had worked at Dr.'s Hospital and continued after it became Humana for many years. She enjoyed sewing for her girls before working also enjoyed crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents Severo and Agustina Serna Alaniz, her husband Pedro A. Garcia, one son-in-law Douglas Milczarek and one sister Anne Ebaben.
