Benavides, Texas -Amado Garcia, 71 years of age was called home with our Heavenly Father on July 17th 2018 surrounded by his family after a short illness. Daddy was a fellow Marine, Loving Father, Son, Dad, Papo, friend and wonderful husband. He loved working on cars, trucks, tractors and any problem that had a mechanical issue. There was not a tractor Daddy could not take apart and put back together. Daddy retired from the Naval Air Station- Kingsville as a Captain Firefighter after 30 years of service. After his retirement, Daddy enjoyed peddling in the yard, the ranch, spending time with his family and his faithful companion, his dog Reba. Daddy became a super-user of Facebook and Google. Give him the phone and a stylus and he found what he was looking for. His grandchildren and children were the light of his eyes. He always enjoyed hearing about the next roping, shooting event and their next adventure. Simple pleasures for a simple kind, hearted man. Daddy was preceded in death by his parents, Octavio and Belen R. Garcia, his brother Octavio Garcia Jr., his son Jody A. Garcia, and his in – laws Salvador and Manuela Chavez. Daddy is survived by his wife of 47 years of marriage, Anita Garcia, his son Amado (Leticia) Garcia JR of Freer, Texas; his daughter Virginia (Bruce) Menking of Alice, Texas. His sisters Gloria (Frank) Saenz of Benavides, Texas and Graciela (+Roberto) Garcia of San Jose Community. His grandchildren, Briana (Jesse) Ramirez of San Diego, Texas, Cody Lynn Garcia of San Diego, Texas, Celeste Laredo, Adam Laredo, Caleb Amado Garcia, Jordan Dayne Garcia, Annyece Daveigh Lillie all of Freer, Texas. Kyndall Leigh Nerio of Benavides and Liana Laso of San Diego, Texas. His Great Grand Children, Cailtin A. Ramirez, Eli Ramirez and Jody Lane Garcia all of San Diego, Texas. His Grand-Cat, Theodore Menking, his faithful companion his dog, Reba, his loving cats, Speedy, Bugsy and Wonder. Life long friend to both Mom and Daddy, Ms. Ina Tracy, numerous nieces, nephews and many other friends Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at 5 p.m – 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be conducted Monday, July 23rd, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice, Texas and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas located at 9974 IH 37 access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas. Ben Bolt, Texas. Sylvia A. Gutierrez 75 years of age passed away on July 11, 2018 at Kleberg County Nursing and Rehabilitation after a long illness. She was a graduate of Alice High School and Texas A.& I. University Kingsville. She retired after more than 20 years of service with the San Diego Ind. School District. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She is preceded in death by her parents Zenon S. Soliz and Elida Everett Soliz and her brother Zenon E. Soliz. She is survived by her son David H. Gutierrez of Austin, one sister Judith S. (Antonio) Arredondo of Hebbronville, and several nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Mauro P. Alice, Texas David Cantu III, a young child 4 years of age born December. 17, 2013 passed away on July 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle to Cancer. David was a very strong brave boy during this battle, he never complained of pain. He loved helping his dad (Panfi) and mom doing yard work and being their little helper. He always looked forward to riding Tata lawn mower and tractor. During his short life, he touched the lives of everyone in a special way.
