Benavides, Texas - Vicente Leonardo Chapa, 87 years old passed away June 23, 2019 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict. He was retired from the Duval County Conservation department of Benavides, Texas after 30 years. Vicente was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be sadly be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Crisoforo and Herlinda S. Chapa, one brother, Humberto Chapa and one sister Lucia Ramos. He is survived by his two sons, Vicente L. Chapa, Jr. and Daniel (Cynthia Cervantez) Chapa both of Benavides, Texas. four brothers, Rodolfo Chapa and Arnoldo Chapa both of Benavides, Texas, Ruben (Idalia) Chapa of Alice, Texas and Crisoforo Chapa of San Francisco, CA., two sisters, Herlinda (Oscar) Sanchez of Benavides, Texas and Francis (Lorenzo) Villarreal of Houston, Texas , seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
