Benavides, Tx - Juan Ramon "J. R." Resendez, 66 years old passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. Sgt. Juan Ramon "J.R." Resendez, was a patrol and traffic officer and progressed through the ranks to Sergeant and retired with over 29 years of service. During his tenure he served as a K9 officer with his partner Buddy and also served as the Warrant Officer and Evidence Sergeant before retirement. Sgt J. R. Resendez was recognized as one of the toughest Sergeants by the officers who had the honor of working alongside him. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramon Pena Resendez and Juanita Amaya Resendez, one son Benjamin Resendez and his father-in-law Andres "Chito" Hernandez. He is survived by his wife of 26 years of marriage Norma H. Resendez, one son John Cody Resendez, two daughters Vanessa Ann (Andrew) Sanchez and Veronica M. (James) Harris, his mother-in-law Aurora G. "Lola" Hernandez, one brother Calixtro Resendez, one brother-in-law Rene "Rhino" Hernandez, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1p.m. till 2 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego. Corpus Christi-Velma Iris Molina, 58 years of age passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Corpus Christi after a short illness. She was a graduate of W.B. Ray High School Class of 1979. Velma worked for Goodwill Industries for many years. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father Teofilo Molina, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Molina and Mark (Sarah) Molina, one daughter, Leticia Almaguer, her mother, Lydia P. Alice-Juan Manuel Abrigo, 66 years of age passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long illness. Juan Manuel Abrigo was born to Rosalio and Elia R. Abrigo on March 1, 1952. Juan was a graduate of Alice High School Class of 1971 and a graduate of Texas A&I University of Kingsville, Texas. He was a school teacher for Pecos ISD where he retired after 30 years of teaching. His enjoyment of life was traveling which he traveled the world. Juan also loved the company of his family and his passion were his cats. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jose Luis Abrigo, Sr. Survivors include his two brothers, Roberto (Isabel Cantu) Abrigo, San Diego, Texas and Armando (Rosario) Abrigo, Alice, Texas, three sisters, Maria Louisa “Lulu” Santos, Rosalinda Salinas both of Alice, Texas and Maria Guadalupe Barrera, San Antonio Texas.

San Diego, Texas - Arnoldo Tunchez, Sr. passed away Wednesday October 31, 2018 in an Alice Nursing Home after a short illness. He was a San Diego High School graduate, a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, was an active member of the San Diego VFW Post 8931, was a former San Diego City Marshall for many years, was a retired material expeditor for the CCAD and an avid Vaquero fan. Arnoldo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother in law and uncle. He was known for his LOVE of lottery tickets, cigarettes and coffee. He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Francisca A. Tunchez, one brother Alvezo Tunchez and one grandson John Tunchez.
